this confirms that this song is being sung from the perspective of Billie’s abuser. it explains the tone of the song, and completely changes the way you look at it. Lines like “If you find it hard to swallow, I can loosen up your collar, ‘Cause, as long as you’re still breathing, Don’t you even think of leaving” make it very overwhelmingly clear that this is the perspective Billie is portraying

Also, while some people think the Spotify interview thing from the lyric version disproves this, it just doesn’t. She says the song was made to be “insane live”, not a fun song in terms of concept. She said she was going through crazy feelings at the time and you’d understand if you looked at the lyrics, but doesn’t say what the feelings were. On an album where Billie is venting about her trauma, a song like this would have no place in the project. I don’t know how she could have made this more obvious then by saying me and you are both the same

You say this dark/macabre humor phrase to lighten things up when both people have been discussing sad topics. You laugh a little bit because it is so bad to say and then you move on to talking about lighter subject things again. It is a segue (pronounced seg-way) / (a conversational bridge)from sad subjects back to lighter ones.

I find it very useful, although some people have not heard it before and they get confused and don't know what you are talking about, so you have to explain it to them. Then they laugh and you both move on to lighter subjects.

Wow, that's too bad that your friend's sister's hairdresser's brother got in a car accident and lost his pinky toe. (both people feel sad and there is silence and conversation is halted) and so another person says , "But other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play!" Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? And that is a shocking and awful thing to say, but it makes people laugh because it is so shocking and awful. Do not say this though if something is really really sad, because it will not lighten things up and it will make people mad and hurt their feelings.

That one guy who is in that one girl's life who foils your plan of getting with her. Other Guy is not a person, but more of a position. Other Guy can be a close guy friend, an ex-boyfriend, someone trying to hit on her, etc.

Some girls would use this term in a pejorative way, making an unfair generalization of other girls their age.
