Friend-in-Lease

Friends of your roommates that you never hang out with except through them. More than acquaintance, but less than a real friend.
Man, I can't call Tiffany. She's your friend. She's only my friend-in-lease.

Leased IP

A leased IP, is an IP address you get from an ISP, that is in use, though the ISP company states other wise.

When you have a leased IP, there will be an IP address conflict, resulting in network connection loss.
A company gives you a leased ip, and the address is already in use by a Cisco IP phone. Both devices cannot use the address at the same time. Resulting in problems with your IP connection.

Jewish Lease

When someone purchases something in order to use it for 1-2 days, then returns it, only to purchase a newer model/version in 3-6 months to use and return again; thus essentially using the item and future upgrades for free.
You know that tent I bought last weekend? I returned it today, and I'm buying a newer model next time I go camping and returning it again.

Oy vey what a Jewish lease!

operating lease

An operating lease is a short-term lease of fixed assets. After one lesse has returned it, another lesse will quite likely use it. This is recrded in the Trading Profit and loss account for year ended XxXx as an overhead.

Operating leases are short-term, and deal mainly with assets that depreciate slowly.
We have an operating lease on this tractor. We have to return or renew in six months.
