In the Pocket

When two or more people play musical instruments together, with or without a vocal accompaniment and are perfectly on-beat, never missing a note or going off tempo in any way.

The Expression "in the pocket" most commonly refers to the musical genres of jazz, blues, bluegrass and flamenco.

"Wow.. have you heard Django Reinhardts minor swing? The whole song is in the pocket!"

"Man, the Tolga Quartet are really in the pocket tonight"

What you say when someone wrongfully assumes you will be included in an undesirable activity. Another way of saying "what do you mean we?"

Holly: "I told my cousin we would help him move this weekend."
Ramon: "Got a turd in your pocket?"
Holly: "Excuse me?"
Ramon: "You said 'we' so you must be referring to yourself and the turd in your pocket. I have plans this weekend."

Usually said to someone when it appears that they have a boner.

Said to embarass/draw attention to said person

Banana can be replaced with a multitude of things, i.e cucumber, pencil, roll of quarters, mint container, etc.

Guy 1: *walks into room*
Guy 2: Hey is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Guy 1: *looks down*
Everyone: *Laughs*

You got a mouse in your pocket?

A reply to a person who has used the word "we". The person making the reply is telling the speaker no one is effected by their statement other than them. Or, in an organization (work or volunteer positions), someone has just said that "we" all need to do something. This reply means that it's agreed the work needs to be done, but the speaker is the only one who must do it.

Employee to Boss: "Have you considered my program initiative? I think it's important, we really need it implemented to make my fall task easier."
Boss: "You got a mouse in your pocket?"

1. To grow a pair and do what you have to do. Usually used when someone doesn't want to do something for fear of rejection, being let down or pure nervousness.

2. To force yourself to do something even if it means that it may lead to possible failure.

Jon: I wish I could talk to her...but she's way out of my league man.
