Reads (badly) news regarding movies that will never get made written by people you've never heard of. Defended rabidly by the notoriously dubious AICN gang, home of several famewhores and knight complexes themselves. Setting back serious, intelligent women involved in Hollywood back many, many decades.

script kiddie

A True Fool. One to be looked down upon. They tend to use leet speak, but dont realize its true significance. They are usually 10-14 year old kids (or so) who think they are "1337 |-|4x0r5", but are really just trying to be cool.

They call themselves hackers (which is not the same as a cracker, a hacker is a programmer, a cracker is a person who breaks into computers), while they are neither hackers or crackers.

They use other peoples programs to do their simple "hacking", and usually end up getting caught.

Hackers are really cool people. Script kiddies are morons.

Hacker: I just wrote my 30th module for the Linux kernel! Linus Torvalds emails me every day, he loves my code!

Cracker: I just broke into the CIA's webpage and replaced all occurances of the president's name with "Mr. Dumbass", It's funny as hell!

Script Kiddie: j0, ph00! I ju57 stolezored me a b0rkified wind0ze 3.1 b0xor. It r0x0rz my s0x0rz. I wundr if it g0tz Linux on it? Whutz Linux anywayz?

script kid

A person, usually a teenage male, with minimal knowledge of computer systems that executes code (often called "exploits") or follows procedures created by more knowledgeable people to break into computer systems or commit "denial of service" (DoS) attacks against other people. These kids are often portrayed by the media and other non-technically savvy parties as being very intelligent and having tremendous technical knowledge despite the fact that very few of these so-called "hackers" can write their own computer programs (of any sort) or even possess even the most rudimentary technical understanding of the underlying systems that they are attacking or using (e.g., CPU architecture, network protocols, algorithms, etc). The wide-spread and trivial availability of these exploits/scripts for "hacking" and denial-of-service attacks allows these kids to cause serious problems from time-to-time and thus they get themselves into trouble way out of proportion to their skill set.

To leap to the assumption that one of these script kids has significant computer knowledge based on his ability to successfully execute exploits/scripts/DoS attacks created by other people is equivalent to assuming that the functionally-illiterate 14 year old that shoots a clerk at a convenience store must be a physics expert because he managed to fire a gun. It's point and clock--it's just that simple. To further torture this analogy, beyond these kids' lack of subject-matter knowledge, they often get themselves into trouble by being extraordinarily stupid and naive in their crimes, e.g., bragging, keeping evidence of their crimes, attacking the wrong people, getting themselves in the press, etc.

script kiddie

A computer user usually in their teens that uses pre-made programs for cracking, phreaking and most other forms of electronic havoc. They have little to no hacking skills and usually use their progz for bad purposes.

God damn script kiddies. They give hackers a bad name.

Script Frenzy

An event during the month of April (changed from June) in which participants attempt to write a screenplay or stageplay of 100 pages or more. The playwrights who write 100 pages or more are winners. The brainchild of Chris Baty, the creator of both Script Frenzy and NaNoWriMo.

Participants may begin writing April 1. The deadline is April 30.
