Set apart from other games in its AI, graphics and physics engines. At what part in Halo can you pick barrels up and slam them into the enemies, when in Pariah do the enemies retreat, try to outflank you and generally don't commit suicide, and in UT2004, is Nikata's arse really as round as alyx's?

A first person shooter that so outclassed others of the same time frame, almost no one played it on a console. But it still remains the definitive title on the PC.

The sequal to the award winning game half-life. Half-life spawned 50 "best pc game of the year" awards because of it's ground-breaking and exciting storyline. Half-life 2 will have COMPLETLY updated graphics, and will also use pixal shaders to to max, which means that lighting will be very realistic, and it will also use the "source" engine, which means that the game obeys the laws of mass, friction, gravity, and buoyance.

In my opinion, the best game ever. sure, its not as exciting as having a horde of zombies run and attack you like in l4d2, but it has good graphics, good gameplay, really superb storyline, and really good AI and whatnot. many mods were created off of this game such as garrysmod and half life:riot act. most people compare it to halo 2 because they think that because they dont own one of them makes the one they do own the best. half life 2 also has a online deathmatch, called half life 2 deathmatch. the game starts off with the main charecter, gorden freeman, waking on a bus. he then goes around kicking things asses and then takes a stunstick to the face, then leading to him and alyx vance meeting. and then, to sum it up, a ton of storyline and shooting at aliens. im not going to tell you because you should have or be planning to own this game.
