Emo is not all about people hating their lives & using razorblades to cut their wrists. That's a stereotype. Emo is actually a type of music from around the 80's and not all of their songs are about wanting to die or depression. Emo is not a type of person, it is a type of music! People who think that 'emos' are attention whores are wrong. Some may and some may not be but that's not the point. People should stop calling people emo just because they are depressed. Anyone can be depressed.

A person who thinks dark thoughts, has strange emotions,(or in most cases, none) and takes delight in fashioning their hair in a stupid way that covers their eye and cutting themselves.

(emo, playing Halo 2) This is almost as much fun as cutting myself!!! *sigh* almost....

(verb) Coined by me, to "emo out" is to kill oneself.

(noun) The music that the whiny, bratty teenagers who wear their 8 year old sister's jeans, forget how to wash their hair, and get picked on so much in band class that they pretend like their going to slit their wrists but don't have the guts to actually go through with it, "enjoy." Of course, being scene kids (lovers of emo), they don't actually enjoy the music.
They listen to music written by others like them because the grease from their unwashed hair seeps into their ears and clogs the passages, making it impossible for any noise to get past, other than the voices of other wankers like them.

(verb) I wish that damn kid with the hair in his eyes would emo out already.

An emo kid (emphasis on kid as it is also a music genre) is a person who is oveerly sensitive or emotional. they may wear dark clothing and hav hair that covers most of their face. they probably don't want to be labelled, but people do so anyway.

Fake emo kid: omg i h8 my life im going to go slit my wrists and re-apply my eyeliner!

Real emo kid: *dancing to music* omg i love this song! today is going so well ~half an hour later~ I hate this its so gay life is getting really frustrating now!

emo

A genre of music that appeals to most people, even though some people try to hide that they like it because they are afraid of expressing themselves as emos do. This music is semi punk music but of a softer tone, some popular groups are Taking Back Sunday, Death Cab for Cutie, and Hawthorne Heights. Also, a "group" of people who tend to dress dark, simalar to goths, but their clothes tend to be tighter and sometimes have more color, though mostly black is worn. They wear eye-liner and some wear eye-shadow, be them guy or girl. People like to make fun of these people but usually this is just a sign that they are insecure with themselves and who they are so they tend to lash out at those who are comfortable with expressing themselves, and lack these problems because they do not try to be something they are not. Emos hair styles are usually very odd, but nicely so... like mine. ^_^ Emos tend to cover their eyes or face with their long, beautiful bangs and usually keep it at an angle. This is very popular and for good reason. Emos rule, and one day they will rule YOU!
