soft horror

A horror game, movie or any kind of medium that doesn't use jumpscares to scare the player/watcher, but rather explores various techniques to create a feeling of terror without inducing a (metaphorical) heart attack.

A: Dude, I played September 1999. Check it out!
B: Dunno man, I don't like it...
A: Chill out, it's soft horror.

Child-Friendly Horror

This term can mean two things.
1. (Adjective)- A horror game or series whose fanbase has been overrun by annoying children, whose ages are ususally 8-12. (e.g., Five Nights at Freddy's, The Walten Files, Poppy Playtime)
2. (Noun)- A horror game obviously meant to scare children that often takes the form of a Roblox game or low-quality Steam game. (e.g, Garten of BanBan, Rainbow Friends)

1. I used to love that game, but now it's been overrun by little kids and become a child-friendly horror.

2. I can't believe anyone would spend any time on that game. It's such a child-friendly horror.
