Back in Battery

Originally an artillery term for a gun which has completed its recoil/postfiring cycle and is ready to fire again. Common usage now is 'ready to go,' or recovered. Also seen as 'Back to Battery.'

A battery that uses the decay of radioactive isotopes in relatively slow amounts that can last to centuries, this is commonly used for 24/7 operating machines that do not need power maintenance.
The voyager 1 uses an atomic battery so it can send back information to earth centuries after launch.

battery autonomous future

The trend in recent "innovations" where the main focus is powering something with a battery (usually a large lithium-ion battery), turning something into an autonomous pod, or a combination of both. The thing that's being innovated usually works better without a battery or operated by a human being. Coined by Justin Rozniak on the Well There's Your Problem podcast.
"dude, did you hear about the new thing Elon Musk came up with? He's going to move people underground using battery-powered autonomous pods!"
