axel

A jump in figure skating which takes off of a forward outside edge, rotates one and a half revolutions in the air, and then is landed on the back inside edge of the opposite foot used to jump from.

Also, the hardest jump in figure skating (hardest single, double, and triple). No quad axels have yet been landed.

This jump is highly associated with mind games, and instills fear in many of skaters. Very fun to land, but taking off is usually the hardest part!

Ususally once a skater lands an axel, they are accepted into the political world known as figure skating. It is a brutal world, you are no one, even in little USFSA clubs... you are no one unless you have your axel...

Adelaide

Adelaide is a pretty but very small, isolated city in South Australia. I grew up there, and while it's certainly not a bad place to live, the people there have small minds and "getting away" to them means driving to Salisbury. The UniSA campus is a "trek". Living now in the USA, it only gets easier to criticize the place. Our stores shut at 5pm, and, with the exception of our 1 mall... Rundle Mall, aren't open at all on Sundays. Open 24-hours stores? Uh, no... we just got electricty last month. Don't let this concept of "progress" get out of control. We can't modernize too rarpidly. Honestly, I think 10 years ago we were on par with other OZ cities, but now, we're going backwards. And fast.

Our department store, David Jones only had 3 of a particular makeup compact I wanted. The Chanel Corramandels. Yes, we had to order it in. I get back to the states and the product isn't even being sold in Adelaide anymore, and there are 7 just sitting in the rack at Sephora.

adelaide

The South Australian capital city which is still in the 20th century. ADELAIDE is full of the scum of australian society. People are generally backwards, rely on government money. Adelaide has no tall buildings and resembles a mid western American city.

Adelaide citizen:"Dude wot is dat device?"

Tourist: "Im from sydney and this is a mobile phone. Everyone has one!!!"

Adelaidfe citizen: "well no. we don't even have phones yet in adelaide"
