Scroll fugue

When you scroll through social media for an extended period and lose your perception of time.

I went on Twitter for like 15 min and got sucked into a scroll fugue. Before I knew it, four hours had passed!

scroll fugue

A disassociated state where someone loses awareness while scrolling social media and unconsciously drifts between apps. Similar to a fugue state, it involves memory gaps, autopilot browsing, and the sudden realization that you’ve ended up deep in another feed without remembering how.

I knew it was time for bed when I got sent into a scroll fugue last night while scrolling on X.
