Significant Friend

An amalgamation of "Best Friend" and "Significant Other", usually referring to someone of the opposite sex. Essentially someone who you have no romantic connection to but still love (as a friend) anyhow - a step above "Best Friend" which is used too interchangeably with "Friend".

You know, you're not just a friend Alyssa, I'd call you a significant friend :-)

A person who has friends, but they’re only friends out of pitty. Never the first person to call for plans, always left as a last option. Friends of the GoFundMe friend rarely make effort in hanging out.

Inter-Friends

Any one of those thousands of "friends" you may have made on any number of social media sites (Instagram, Facebook,......and yes even Myspace) that you have never met or will probably never meet, but claim as a buddy because they "liked" your pictures and or "followed" you.
