First coined 1st August 2021 when UK Member of Parliament Chris Bryant was repeatedly and mercilessly burned on Twitter. Even long-time adversaries of the MP begged him to come off the social media platform after he alleged that Pinochet was a communist.
Undeterred, the MP went on to make such a fool of himself that the phrase "Doing a Chris Bryant" was used.

Boss to Painter. : "You know this wall was supposed to be blue, why did you paint it yellow, then proceed to paint the house, your car, and the old lady sitting on the bench outside?.. Did you paint that baby's face!? "
Painter: "I knew it was wrong, but people were watching! I just kept on going, as if that was all planned. People looked horrified when I was painting people and dogs and cars, but I just had a Chris Bryant moment. I literally couldn't stop being a prick. I was waiting for someone to take the brush off me, but they never did."
