A girl that has an extreme interest in something; most often used for girls that love a particular celebrity. There are multiple kinds of fangirls, such as music fangirls, actor/actress fangirls, and anime/manga fangirls. There are also sections within those, but I will not go too in depth.

Some fangirls may get offended when associated with other fangirls. For example, if an anime/manga fangirl sees a post on something, such as tumblr, that is titled as "Fangirl Questions" and promptly reads it, only to find that it is aimed towards music fangirls, she may get very angry and begin to type something extremely angry at the person whom posted it.

Fangirl

Females often between the ages of 11-19, obsessed with book series, television programs and/or celebrities. They can be found at local bookstores, arms filled with books they will probably read at a much later time. 78% of the fangirl population stock up on books in case they need to go into hibernation, a form in which they stay in bed all day obsessing over fictional characters. Fangirls are usually harmless, unless approached when reading/watching an important event (which is not recommended). They are mostly seen wearing comfortable clothes, next to no make up, carrying a miming of two books and, sometimes, with earphones in.

Fangirl: Reads a book

Fangirls new favorite book: *Sits in a ray of sunlight on a pedestal under a glass case*

Fangirl: *Never let's anyone touch her new book*

So you might be asking, what the hells a fangirl, your a fangirl if you are a gal, or guy, (I didn't make up the rules) Who is so super devoted to a book band show or movie, that it makes you just want to curl up and cry, spend hours on the internet despretly trying to get, a spoiler, that can put your mind at ease, you tweet the author everyday, even if its just to say, dear god please do not kill my otp. And john green you were so wrong when you said it would be okay, cause fandoms ruin your life but in such a wonderfull way, And now you may be thinking, o my gods, I just cant even, im not sure if im ready for this life, but there are tons of others, who share your enthusiasm, so embrace your feels cause your in for a bumpy ride.... A type of human female who obsesses over something, usually a book/book series, TV show, celebrity, or anime; this behavior is called fangirling, hence the name; you will find them staying up till early in the morning reading fanfiction as well as using words such as OTP and ship

Regular person #1: That's a fangirl over there.
Regular person #2: How can you tell?
