ill legit

Originates from the slang words 'ill' and 'legit'. When these two words combine they form 'ill legit'. Also based on the slang developed by The Beastie Boys (although they never in fact used these two words in combination). Could appropriately be used when someone does something very impressive but not only is this 'something' they do impressive but it is done with complete and utter style.

1. (Your friend does an extremely smooth 180 degree rollout over a box on his 20" bike) you say "Damn... that was ill legit"

2. (Your friend pulls out an electric guitar and instead of playing some retarded-ass solo, that does take talent but sounds horrible, he plays some cool, slick classical/spanish guitar riff) "WOW! ILL LEGIT... thats all i can say about that"

Totally Legit

"Totally Legit", when used with air-quotes or equivalent, means "Not at all legitimate". For something to be "Totally Legit" it must be an exact copy or accurate facsimile of the original thing, however it is of irreputable origin. Also applies to stolen items and shady business transactions.

The literal meaning is obscured with subtle sarcasm. This is often used to convince friends to try something really stupid or get people to buy things.

"For Sale: Used Laptops. "Totally Legit" Windows 7 pre-installed. $200"

Fool: "Check out these bitchin' new Adidas kicks! I got them for $35! The salesman said they were Totally Legit too!"
You: "That says Adidos. With an 'o'. Adidos. Nice."
Fool: "Wha??? FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU..."

You: "Hey, there's that van that says "Free Candy"! Once, I climbed in the back and it was FULL of gobstoppers! (lie) You should totally check it out!"
Fool: "Are you sure? Looks kinda shady to me."
You: "Oh don't worry, it's "Totally Legit"!"
Fool: "Oh, well OK, I'll try it then..." <Gets abducted>

Seriously. As opposed to not seriously. So your listener knows that you're not lying.

Use multiple times in one sentence to establish your credibility. To doubt someone who is legit is heresy.

Dealer: You should buy insurance, I legit have blackjack.

Cassy: I legit, just legitimately shut off my legit laptop. Legit.
