If they insult you because of your opinion of the character or keep bothering you because of them they commit a dick riding fallacy

Originally from the tv show Mom, meaning to keep driving on an empty tank of gas. However now it’s used to mean when you know something is over but you haven’t left yet.

“I thought you got fired?”
“Not yet, but I’m riding the zero.”
