When you are at a poetry slam competition and there are so many poems performed you worry that it is somehow going to create a blood clot in your brain

It may also be used to describe a person who takes a light hearted pursuit very seriously.

Someone who tries to hard.

That singer is fine example of a karaoke samurai.
