girlfriend energy

The kind of vibes you get from a girl you see in the store or anywhere out in public (especially when she is alone), to make it known by everyone around her that she is not available. Maybe it’s because she’s got headphones on, she’s looking at her phone or her surroundings a lot to keep track of why she’s out in the first place and who is around her, and she doesn’t make eye contact or really smile at anyone. She’s not in a bad mood, she just doesn’t want to be approached by anyone with romantic (or, maybe even platonic) intentions of getting to know her.

example 1-
guy 1: hey man, you see her? go and holler at her
guy 2: nah bro she got gf energy, i’m not tryna get in somebody’s drama
guy 1: oh yea, you right. she don’t even smile, haha

example 2-
i used to come in here all the time and she’d ring me up and we’d talk a little before i left the store, but i gave her my number a couple times and now she got gf energy and won’t talk to me at all. i think she’s with somebody

example 3-
girl 1: why’d you give that man that girlfriend energy like that?
girl 2: what man?
girl 1: i know you just seen him! the dude that just smiled at you a minute ago! in the grey shirt?
girl 2: so? what about him?
