A tactic by the television comedian Steven Colbert to demonstrate the stupidity of the 2012 Republican presidential primary process by encouraging democratic and independent voters (as well as Colbert-supporting Republicans) to vote for resigned candidate Herman Cain in the South Carolina open primary vote rather than any candidate then pursuing the Republican Party nomination.

As Stephen Colbert said, "If you like me, you're gonna love voting for Herman Cain." The word of the day: "Raise Cain!"

TSA Pay Raise

When your company says they fought hard for a raise - but knew there wasn’t enough money in the budget and a reduction in pay was coming.

So you get a raise for the last 3 months of one fiscal year and then they pull it back as the new fiscal year starts…then initiate a cut in pay, essentially wiping out your pay raise and even making you poorer.

Person 1: Hey, did you see we are getting a TSA Pay Raise this year?

Person 2: Yea, here comes 3 months of pay at the rate we deserve and then a fiscal year take back followed by a reduction in pay.

Person 1: There goes my morale. I think I’m going to try being a truck driver.

Lay Raise: The result of being fired from a position only you or very few people can fill, only to be hired back at a higher pay rate when the company whom fired you comes crawling back for your help.

So they fired me on Friday, and hired me back on Tuesday, but for more money, because I didn't want to go back for the same. Best three day weekend and lay raise ever!
