Geek chic

Basically a hipster but the pretense is not directed towards single-origin coffee or obscure music, but towards "geeky" shit. A lot of the promoters of this stem from corporate cynicism that is thinly disguised by using attractive front-runners like Felicia Day and moderately annoying douchebags like Wil Wheaton. You can tell because geek chic is all these people are - it's a brand and they are wearing it to market it to you. Typically these people have nothing interesting about them at all, but will nevertheless try to force you to think they are cool or interesting by how many tabletop board games, RPGs, and Magic the Gathering cards they have.

They told us "nerd blackface" wasn't okay to say anymore so they re-branded it as geek chic.

A heterosexual cis male normally associated with a rural or unsophisticated background that unknowingly dresses well by creating an unintentional matching stylish outfit. Clothing choices derived from a mix of equal parts unintended on trend pieces and rural casual wear. Often seen in the Eastern provinces of Canada.
