Mac friend

a person who sells you on overpriced hardware with overpriced software, which none of your friends have any idea how to fix when it goes wrong, so you have to rely solely on the person who recommended the mac to you, who's normally too busy to provide support. Written from personal experience, friend's experiences, and also, I work tech support, and supporting customers who's friends told them a Macintosh was better and are never around when they have problems.

Well, my mac friend said these are great computers. I can't get a hold of him. How do you set up Mac Mail / Entourage?

courtesy friend

Someone you may or may not have met who asks to be your friend or contact on a social networking site, such as Facebook. Out of social obligation, you are compelled to accept the invitation, but you end up hardly or never communicating with the person anyway.

Jim is just a courtesy friend. We went to high school together, and I vaguely remember him being a total loser. I didn't want to insult him, so I just accepted his LinkedIn invitation. I'll just silently unfriend him in a month or so, and he probably won't bother me again.

Clitoral Friend

That sweet spot of the Venn Diagram between a trusted loyal best friend and the fun times favorite friend (the one you want to spend time with). While the best friend may be who you go to for problems or support or comfort they may not be your first choice on a Saturday booze run. While on the other hand your favorite friend would be the ones you hang out with for good times, they tend to be gossipy and not good with secrets. So the clitoral friend is the sweet sweet mixture of both of these and far superior to either by comparison.

Person 1 "While I do have people I consider best friends and all that, I usually just go by favorite friends, best friends are not necessarily favorites, or sane."

Lover Friend

A friend at heart, but provides sexual favors in return for a loyal friendship. A lover friend knows his/her role, understanding they are indeed a step over the line of a "fuck buddy" but not anywhere near a boyfriend or girlfriend. A lover friend cannot give or receive gifts for a holiday, birthday, or any other special occasion, but is allowed to give out free sex whenever he or she pleases.
