Any Sunday night that falls before a Monday holiday. The Wednesday before thanksgiving is bastard Friday. The Fourth of July can cause various illegitimate weekend days.

In the case of a Monday holiday. The Sunday night before becomes an illegitimate non work night. Or bastard Saturday.

Big Sad Saturday

A sad feeling felt on Saturday night, where you feel like you should be out having fun and making memories but instead you are stuck at home doing nothing. Big Sad Saturday's make you feel stuck with thr choice of wanting to go out despite nothing to do or nowhere to go, or be bored at home even though you don't feel like watching a movie or doing anything.

"Hey Ralph, how was your weekend?"
"Sunday was nice. Unfortunately, I had a Big Sad Saturday."

Soft Saturday

Soft Saturdays are when you take a Wednesday off as a vacation day, thus creating a mini weekend during the week. It is also acceptable to refer to this Wednesday vacation as a Soft Sunday. Soft Saturday's also create Soft Thursdays/Fridays out of Monday and Tuesday respectively (glass half full situation).

Sorry I can't make that meeting on Wednesday, I've got a Soft Saturday planned.
