Get the Off Topic mug.A store with a dark/alternative theme aimed at teenagers. Found in most local malls. They sell t-shirts, stickers, buttons, jewelry, and some other stuff.
99% of people are faggots about it, and like to assume that only wannabe emo/scene/goth/punk kids shop there. It's become a catch-all phrase to mean "poseur".
In reality, nobody ever walks into that store and sees nothing but clowns trying really hard to be emo/scene/goth/punk, but just normal people.
Half the people who make a big deal about Hot Topic being a poseur store have bought stuff from them in the past anyway, and a lot are probably poseur emo/scene/goth/punk kids trying really hard to convince everyone else they're for real.
In short, Hot Topic is just a store that sells some pretty neat stuff, and everybody who whines about it being for poseurs is a kneejerking dumbass. Oh, but Happy Bunny is really retarded and unfunny, fuck that shit.

Luckily there's bands that hot topic cannot sell patches and tshirts for because their politics are completely critical of the system hot topic thrives off of. Unfortunately, these bands are too underground for rich suburban rebels to know about, and if they did know about them, it wouldn't be about the politics, but the status of actually knowing the bands. Get some Crass you losers, with the grinding horrible sound, there's no way you can ignore the politics.

Get the Hot Topic mug.A store that sells a few good things, and a lot of crappy things. I'll go there to buy a bracelet or a pair of shoes, maybe a band shirt. I don't think that wearing Hot Topic clothes makes you different, because, as your first grade teacher probably told you, your clothes don't make you "different". I also don't understand why some people think that wearing Hot Topic pants makes them better than everyone else.
