He's a very bright boy who tends to annoy his adult crewmates, and subsequently many of the TNG fans, even though he is just a kid and he's literally just trying to help out. Some may headcanon him as autistic, which I don't entirely agree with but I can see where they're coming from. Wesley is probably a very nice person to be friends with.
