An 8 year long vacation, or break. Derived from the 8 year long period when Saiyan's transform into their Great Ape form every 100 years.

I hate this job; I need to take a Saiyan Sabbatical.

A type of work leave granted to employees who have shown an increase in frustration, sufficient to cause “stabiness”: this leave is not part of standard PTO

Sabbatical 

An indeterminate period of time taken by a middle-manager off-work, which may either be paid or unpaid, taken by someone who may or may not be successful, who also may or may not be in the midst of a mid-life crisis, so that they can decide what they want (or do not want) to be when they grow up, before eventually returning to their desk job after realising the golden age of piracy ended 300 years ago.

“Did you hear Rob is on a sabbatical? Never picked him for a pirate. Any idea when he is back? I need him to approve my expenses”

When you leave work abruptly and do not return for several days due to sadness. Usually brought on by female coworkers.

Sarah hurt Bob’s feelings at work, so he left early for an unplanned sadness sabbatical. He will be back Monday.
