A combination of "scene" and "emo". While scene kids are just acting emo because it is "cool", true emo kids have issues... or at least they act like they do. Scemo kids have a tendency to act emo when it is convenient, and become outrageously happy and preppy whenever they feel like it. Most scemos are very social. Some people have described these individuals as slightly bipolar.
"That scemo kid was just crying during Dashboard's set, but now he's over there laughing with his girlfriend."

A scemo is someone who looks scene or emo but isn't. They listen to all rock genres and some rap. Or sometimes they just listen to everything.
Ashley you're scene.
"No I'm not!"
Then you're emo!
"Nope. I listen to a little bit of everything so I'm nothing. I'm Ashley."
That's not true. You're a scemo!

A combination of scene and emo
Usually messy black hair, black clothes, dark makeup (even boys) and girl pants (even boys.)
They think that their life is really hard and "try" to commit suicide (Slitting wrists is a favorite, burning, etc.)
Listen to screamy music
Just all around depressing

A word used to describe someone who may be picky about which stereotypical term you use to label them. Apparently "scene" is commonly know for it's clothing/hair styles. "Emo" is more commonly know for the whiney music style/the addiction to cutting ones self. Both clothing/hair styles are quite similar. In order to avoid conflict on which of the two labels the individual prefers, it is safest to refer to them as "scemo", therefore, the identity of the individual is not blatantly labeled as one specific stereotype.
Guy 1-"So who was that "scemo" girl you were just talking to?
Guy 2-"That is my girlfriend, she prefers to be considered "scene" because she doesn't cut herself. But thanks for not assuming."

Definition 1: Black, thick rimmed, plastic framed glasses. They can be pretty pricey. You don't always see them on scenesters, but if you want to find them, that's where they'll be.
Definition 2: Huge sunglasses that used to look good on Victoria Beckham, and that a lot of scenesters have adopted.

Some scenester wearing scemo glasses: Hey, I like your glasses, are you emo too?
Me: Ahem. No. And neither are you.
