When people in the media (usually television/movies) add homoerotic tension between two characters to attract more liberal and queer viewers with the indication of them not ever getting together for real in the show/book/movie.

"Hey did you watch the new Supernatural episode last night"

"Nah all the queer baiting in it makes me want to bash my head in. I quit watching Sherlock for that reason too."

Generally speaking when a straight man or woman makes sexual jokes toward someone who is apart of the LGBTQ community in a “haha kidding (I’m not kidding)” kind of way. It’s actually very uncomfortable. Ex: Just because a woman is attracted to other women it doesn’t mean that YOU are those other women.

Straight Girl Friend: Omg haha I’m gonna leave my husband for you cause we’d be so much better together
