Phonebook funny

Attributed to a naturally funny person who can do absolutely anything, e.g. read the phonebook, and get a laugh.

Charles was really cracking me up with that story. It wasn't actually funny, just the way he said it was funny.

Phonebook dumping

Contrary to the "invisible" cancellation of subscriptions, Phonebook dumping consists of depositing stacks of unwanted telephone books in front of offices of the business in who's name they are distributed (i.e., Verizon, Pacific Bell) in an attempt to bring consequences to bear upon these businesses that generate them. It is especially prevalent during Phonebook Month (observed) (U.S.), the month following distribution of stacks of phonebooks.

Every year we observe one or two weekends in Phonebook Month by collecting copies from all the lobbies and mailrooms on the block in a shopping cart and phonebook dumping them in front of the Verizon store in the middle of the night. Then we get smashed.
