When an actor, like Antony Starr, melds into their role so perfectly, like Homelander, the two identities are inseparable. May or may not dictate acting career to similar characters in other movies, shows or videogames. Other examples are Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring, RDJ as Tony Stark, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator.

Friend one: I saw Antony Starr across the street last week and was lowkey scared that he was going to fly into the air and Lazer eye someone
Friend two: ah, classic Homelander Effect.

Often used as a derogatory term to imply that someone is so gay that they may as well be a gay spokesperson.

A designation meaning "one who is better left at home", that is always intended to torment a male of low status by causing him to believe his sexuality is in question. It is often repeated, in rare instances chanted.

"Hey look, it's Timmy the homelover. Why'd you come out homelover? A homelover like you should be at home, like a good homelover, with your homelover brother, loving your home. Ya homelover!"
