Social Entropy ++

The former name of the off-topic section of the Penny-Arcade forums (preceded by M2). A split of the forums in August 2004 separated this forum from its bretheren and renamed it "Happenstance and Ribaldry." Generally the source of all classy mayhem affiliated with the PA Forums, and existing mainly to record future delinquents' internet activities for the convenience of the FBI.

Mathematical Entropy

When there is an imbalance in opportunity between one math student and another—say, for instance, between a student born in Singapore and one born in Sudan; or one attending a neighborhood school and another one in an elite or private school—which can be reduced or eliminated by affirmative action policies or by government grants or subsidies.
