Dr. Dre has been producing
music during his entire career. In the late 1980's, the N.W.A. (Niggaz Wit Attitude) were a rebellious
rap crew that started and defined the subgenre of gangsta
rap. Everyone that Dr. Dre has made a significant positive effect on is Eminem, G-Unit, Nas, The Game, Ice Cube, Jay-Z, himself, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Obie Trice, D12, The D.O.C., Eazy-E, MC Ren, DJ Yella, The Game, Eve, Busta Rhymes and Xzibit. Now if you look over at that list, almost everyone there is a well-known A-list rapper. Dr. Dre also produces for
pop and R&B artists.
Also, Dr. Dre's authenticity shouldn't be doubted. Several rappers talk about coming from the 'hood and the
ghetto and living
hard lives. But truthfully, only few
people, including Dr. Dre, actually experienced hardships in their hoods.
If it wasn't for Dr. Dre, the rap game wouldn't be the same.
The Producer/Rapper has released
two solo albums: The
Chronic (1992) and 2001 (1999).
Dr. Dre released
two albums with the N.W.A.: Straight Outta Compton (1988) and Niggaz4Life (1991).
He began his solo career in Death Row records, but left and started Aftermath. Eminem started Shady records, which is now called Shady/Aftermath.
