chilango

A person from Mexico City- Districto Federal. Often used as a derogatory term by Mexicans outside of Mexico City because they are seen as uppity, pretentious and snobbish. Chilangos can be perceived as "big-city types" and many are upper-class and have European influenced customs.

Can be synonymous to Fresa.

Chimango

Derived from "Chimango Caracara" an overly aggressive and abundant species of bird of prey found in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. "Chimango" refers to somebody who is a trend follower and has an incredibly bad taste for music, food, clothes, art, etc.

Lame guy: "The new nickelback CD rocks! Got an Chad Kroeger autographed copy at Hot Topic!"

A person who is half-mainland Chinese and Half Taiwanese.

Chinese + Taiwanese = Chiwanese

My mom is from mainland China and my dad is from Taiwan. Therefore I'm Chiwanese.

chilango

a person that comes from any city outside Mexico city to live in Mexico city.
The most common error is to say that "Chilango" is a person born in Mexico City (Distrito Federal) those are called Defeños

Persona que vive en la ciudad de México, pero que viene de provincia.
El error mas común es decir que es una persona que nació en el DF, a esta persona se le llama "Defeño"
