IT recruiter

Someone who "talks the talk" which the IT people can't. We are the people that protect the candidates and negotiate on their behalf. (There are some that just don't care where you work, how much you make, etc they just want a commission) but there are others out there who still care and have moral fiber.
I placed a candidate with a client of mine recently. He was really excited and wanted it to go permanent. We negotiated with the Management to have him brought in full time.

I asked the candidate how much he'd like for perm salary he said "70-75k" well I knew the range so got him 85k a year instead. I was elated to find him a position he liked for more that he was asking. That is the fun part of my job!!

Recruiter Roulette

When multiple recruiters are competing to fill the same job, it can create a sense of desperation and a race to the bottom. Recruiters may be more likely to overlook red flags and push candidates into roles that are a poor fit, simply to be the one who makes the placement. As a result, both the employer and the candidate may end up unhappy, and the company may experience high turnover and difficulty retaining talent. Additionally, the perception of the company and the job role can be negatively impacted, making it even more difficult to attract top talent in the future. The lack of a fee for the recruiters may be seen as a short-term savings, but in the long run, it could end up costing the company much more in terms of lost productivity and a damaged reputation.

Term created by Artemis Harp of London to explain time wasting a companies.
Did you hear about that Jeff , he spent 2 months working on six recruiter roulette jobs and didn't close one, he just got fired and lost his house.

Recruiter roulette, do a ton of work for a company only to find the job has been put on a hiring freeze, sorry, we don’t need this anymore don’t worry about not being able to eat. Recruiter roulette,

The gamble starts at yes

out-house recruiter

(1) When you get an email or LinkedIn message from a recruiter who implies he/she is retained by a company to recruit for a job, but in fact he/she is submitting unsolicited candidates for a role.
(2) The opposite of an in-house recruiter / retained search.
Out-house recruiter: "Hi, I'm writing since you'd be great for an analyst role I'm trying to fill." Me: "Is this a retained search?" Out-house recruiter: "No." Me: "No thanks" and then I recommend a colleague I hate and I hope will take a different job, if by some miracle the out-house recruiter is able to place the candidate.
