This is an alternative meaning of the word. With emphasis on the " REE" long 'e'. In this instance it refers to someone who repeats the same questions, conspiracy theories and jokes over and over and over ad nauseum.

Sheila: Randy can't take a hint! I keep telling him I won't come to his house to see his collection if antique Unix terminals but he asks me about it every 5 minutes.
Joe: Sorry Sheila, he means well but he got a mental condition called RECOGNITION. So the same ideas just keep popping up over and over and over.

Stall recognition:When you are taking a crap in a public restroom, Then suddenly become very uncomfortable because you can recognize the person next to you by the shoes there wearing and the poop noises they are making! Scare:you wanna say hi but your still not sure its them
