(2) a façade concealing the whole inconvenient truth or scandal by omitting disparaging details and only revealing the favorable ones. (3) not the whole truth. (4) an antagonistic perspective of a traitor, guilty party, or villain. (Syn. cover-up, fake news, slander, libel, scandal, bullshit, diversion, nonsense, stereotype, hidden meaning, cryptic message, disguise, beard) •(1) an overt feeling or expression used to undercut a particular minority to empower one’s own ego.
