No one says, intellectual people, everyone says, "intellectuals". Call stupid people "stupids", and call ignorant people "ignorants". Ignorance is environmental, stupidity appears to be genetic. Though it is not easy and it may not be possible to determine if an action was ignorant or stupid, ignorance engenders stupid actions by individuals who are not stupid.

The quantity of people who often do stupid things, compared to the quantity of people who do not do stupid things, or do them rarely, is growing.
Though probably everyone wishes there were very few or preferably no stupid people, confronted by their presence (which in some ways often emanates their stupidity), and sometimes injured mentally or physically by their stupid actions, we all need to give that group of people a name to help everyone deal with the growing number of what I compassionately call “stupids.”
I wrote, “compassionately,” because it is wise to never blame someone for doing stupid things, because God probably did not give them the amount of intelligence a person needs to use to differentiate a stupid thing or action from one that is not stupid.
