The word "fag", or "faggot" is suppose to be the highest form of a dis-term towards a prostitute, however it has spread to other sub-culture lifestyles where there are women with similar behaviors who are not necessarily a prostitute. The word, when used in this context, is not a derogatory reference towards homosexuals.
