Someone who believes that both genders should be equal. That's it. Feminists do not think they are better than men. That is a misandrist. Feminists believe that men and women have their own obstacles, some that are limited to gender. For example, it is a common misconception that guys cannot be raped. They can. It is also recognising the fact that women do get payed less because of their natural role in nature (pregnancy)which can often be interpretted as weakness. This is not right.
Feminists are men and women who believe that one shouldn't be judged by their gender and that everyone, regardless of their gender can be themselves, be safe and express their emotions and opinions as they please. Misandry is not a characteristic of a feminist. It is another branch of sexism which feminism is against. The lie that all feminists are women trying to oppress men needs to stop. A feminist is a believer that men are just as valuable as women in society and vice versa. Nothing more.

So, when you here the word “feminist”, you probably think of some batshit crazy ladies who blame everything on men. While mostly that’s true, a real feminist believes that women should have control over their bodies, that toxic stereotypes against men and women should be crushed, and to love yourself. True feminists also preach that girls should not be taught to like pink, or play with dolls and hair, and nor should boys face the same thing. Another thing true feminists preach is to lift each other up, don’t push others down. The person next to you is not competition. Don’t compare yourself too others and love who you are.
