This is a grammar term that pseudo-intellectuals claim needs to be adhered to in all circumstances. Yet, there are a multitude of circumstances in which the passive voice would be clearer to the listen/reader and would make more sense to use.
active voice: Jon stabbed Alan.

passive voice: Alan was stabbed by Jon.

When a bystander intentionally yells a profanity that is picked up and inserted in your text message while you are doing a voice to txt on your phone.
Example: Kareem voice bombed me by yelling "fart" while I was using Siri to text Suzy.

Voice test

A phrase used in Livejournal roleplaying circles to mean playing a character in a low-key, stress-free environment for the purpose of discerning how well one can play said character. Here, "voice" or "character voice" is shorthand for how in-character a player is.
"I'm posting with Cloud on dear_mun as a voice test. Here goes nothing!"
