Evangelion Syndrome

A totally real (trust me bro) psychological condition where a person becomes emotionally attached to someone who constantly insults, belittles, or emotionally damages them.

Symptoms include:

Interpreting emotional abuse as “deep connection”

Thinking “they’re mean because they care”

* Strong attraction to tsunderes and emotionally unavailable people

* Severe Shinji behavior

Common examples:

* Staying attached to someone who treats you like garbage

* “I can fix them” mentality

Origin:
Named after Neon Genesis Evangelion, a series where nearly every character desperately clings to people who actively ruin their mental health.
Usage:
“Bro stop texting her, that’s straight up Evangelion Syndrome.”

Watch Evangelion

To watch evangelion is to (either literally, or through other means) find true happiness and learn to love yourself.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

It's a cool anime.

Only issue: it's fucking depressing and confusing. I'm still confused about the ending and I watched it 2 weeks ago.
