It is also the outline for the default icon of new Scratch accounts, replacing a previous version that showed a human silhouette.2 The Scratch Cat is a trademark of MIT3 and was drawn by Wing Ngan.4 According to Scratch Team member ceebee, the Scratch Cat is nonbinary, meaning that the cat does not identify as strictly male or female in terms of gender.5 However, many users, even some Scratch Team members, use male pronouns for Scratch Cat.

Scratch and Grounder

1. Two antagonists from the 1993 cartoon Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. The pair, Scratch: a robotic chicken with the most grating laugh, and Grounder: a talking green tank/ drill-thing with a billion accesories, a real dumbass. These dumbfucks were Robotniks Henchmen, and often failed and easly tricked.

In track, when a runner withdraws from a race before it begins. The term originated from the days when heat sheets were written on paper, and a runner's name would litterally be scratched off in pencil when he/she decided not to race.

I'm feeling tired today. I think I'm gonna run the mile, and scratch the 3000m.
