The Name Game

(noun) The socially instinctive ritual where you start dropping names in rapid-fire succession upon discovering someone shares your hometown, school, or social circle. It's a subtle way of determining if you vibe with this new acquaintance based on mutual connections.

For example: "Oh, you're from Darien? Do you know Brian Minicus?" “Yeah, we played lacrosse together! Sick dude. What’d you say your name was?”

The Name Game isn’t just about finding common ground; it’s a quick and dirty method to gauge if this person is your kind of normal. It's practically a human nature litmus test.
Omg, I met your friend Trisha and we played the name game and realized she’s roommates with Claire’s older sister!

name

(1) A title used in speech to refer to a specific entity.
Apparently, most users registered on Urban Dictionary have this bizarre obsession of forging definitions about people's names.
And 40% of the time, their definitions are true.

(2) A verb which is used to give an entity an identifiable name.

--- example ---
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 : "Hey, Tod!"
𝗧𝗼𝗱 : *hastily closes laptop in fear* "H-hey there, Chase!"
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 : "Are you hiding something from me? If it's porn, it's fine."
𝗧𝗼𝗱 : "It isn't... Uh, see for yourself." *gently opens laptop*
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 : "Why are you composing a definition about a girl named 'Sophie'?"
𝗧𝗼𝗱 : *sighs* "Yeah... I need help."
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 : "You really do."

The moment when someone (your Mom) cannot correctly identify the gender of a name, e.g. your Mom thinks that Jesse is a feminine name even though it akcually is a masculine name
When I told my mom I was friends with Jesse, she was like, 'Oh, is she nice?' That's total name-gender unidentifiability—Jesse can totally be a guy's name!
