American

An American can technically be from any of the Americas, but when a person uses "American" in a sentence, they would likely be talking about something or someone from the United States. Like any country, America has her stereotypes, many of which are overexaggerated by people who have never set foot in the USA. An American might be recognized as:

- An ignorant person.
- A fat, lazy bum.
- An uneducated person.
- An uncultured person.
- A loud, obnoxious person.
- A racist.
- A wasteful/extravagant person.

(While Americans may be some, many, or all of these things, it's important to note that "some" does not mean "the majority".)

True American culture is all about freedom, patriotism, equality, hard work, and independence. Like other countries, we share a love of diverse foods, sports, traditions, entertainment, and music. The American Dream is widely believed in. We celebrate special holidays like Thanksgiving, where we give thanks and express gratitude. Many give thanks to God. Independence Day, celebrated on July 4th, where we celebrate with a large party or barbeque, and fireworks. There are also other patriotic holidays, like Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day.

From a personal standpoint, America is full of compassionate, hardworking folk who would lend a hand when you're in need. Despite certain differences between one another, we can still agree on the fact that America is a beautiful country and she should be respected and honored.
Person A: "I love my country!"

Person B: "Where are you from?"

Person A: "The United States of America! I'm a loud and proud American, through and through."

Person B: "Makes sense, America is pretty great."

An American is someone who was born in the americas but is mostly referring to people born specifically in the United States Of America.

Americans (USA born people) are widely stereotyped to be loud, rude and obnoxious as well as blindly patriotic, having a hatred towards Canadians, fat, conservative and dumb (especially in Geography).

while some of these stereotypes are half true most of them aren't at all.

A lot of the older generations are conservative and patriotic but no the younger generation, they can be proud of being american but they aren't completely devout to it (most younger americans hate israel and trump).

We don't hate canadians infact we love them and some idolize them in some ways due to their free healthcare, our hockey rivalry with them isn't that serious.
while yes some of us are not very knowledgeable in geography but we are knowledgeable in american geography and can most can probably name many of the states on the map.

and finally we dont sound like texans, our accent is very monotone.

Americans (while we can be loud) are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, we are also very nice towards outsiders and our culture is very diverse throughout the states.
European: "God look at those bloody american tourists ruining our culture!"
American: "Dude half your countries economy runs on our tourism?"

-American

Added to every nationality possible in an attempt to make everyone politically correct. This is done even if the person's family has lived in America for centuries.
~African-American huh? What part of Africa?
-Philadelphia.

~Irish-American? When did you come over?
-I was born in Boston

There is no way to unify like making tiny differences painfully clear!
