A Finnish word that directly translates to 'head day' or 'main day'. It encapsulates the excitement and joy of a day or evening where some event takes place. Usually accompanied by consuming alcohol. Often used in a group in a question-answer format, where one person loudly asks what day it is today, to which everyone else answers by shouting 'pääpäivä'.
