If, by chance, they happen to see you “online” after you’ve announced your social bedtime it would be improper etiquette for them to then comment or contact via those various social media outlets.

If you hold an intellectual ideal, but your real world actions do not reflect or enforce this ideal. Then your actions cancel out this ideological stance. You cannot say to the words "I am a vegan" and claim the moral virtue for such an identity, but occasionally eat chicken. The act of eating the chicken cancels out any moral or ideological virtue or superiority claimed by being vegan.

So there's a glaring hypocrisy, and you will never turn your moral mirror on yourself to say, What am I doing about it?
That's my point. For you - society should act before you do - to enforce your moral code.”

A phenomenon where individuals, under the guise of social righteousness, attempt to seize control of someone's work, career, or reputation. These groups believe their moral or social agendas should take precedence and use social pressure to enforce this belief. On the internet, they often target artists, podcasters, or other creators, demanding that they endorse specific agendas or censor certain content. This practice forces creators to speak with a voice other than their own, undermining their original goals and leading to severe repercussions, such as public shaming or career damage, if resisted. This can be seen as a form of reverse 'Virtue Signaling,' where the pressure to conform is imposed externally rather than expressed personally.
