Actually, it shouldn't be called a suburb because no one has a car and every thing is reachable by bike or train or bus (or walking). Oak Park has a reputation as being super liberal and full of hipsters who had kids and moved out of Bucktown. The only grocery stores are whole foods and trader joe's, but most people go to the farmer's market anyway. The public schools are great, but they are infamous for breeding hippie kids who look down on kids from real suburbs as being "uncultured." Oak Park is also the Chicago version of Park Slope.

A small town that although has its problems, really is a great place to live. People love to hate on Taylorville but thats just part of its charm. From cruising the square to Friday night football, people make memories here that last a lifetime. Lake Taylorville is the place to be in the summer & nothing beats, a lake lot, a fire & some good friends. From Bill's Toastys to Tastee Treet, Taylorville has some of the best food around. It's not the fanciest town. It doesn't have a lot of money or restaurants or upscale places. But it does have a lot of good people and most importantly, a lot of heart. People that live in this town should be proud to call it home.

Old people here hate any sort of education for young people because god forbid they have to pay an extra dollar in taxes. The old people here also hate teachers because they "make too much".
Newspaper: McHenry, IL Schools may have sports programs cut if ballot initiative does not go through.
Old Person: Kids don't need sports, they should be going to church, not playing sports. Also, the teachers make 50K a year, they should be doing it for free!!

The town has no activities to offer except bowling, golfing, and if your young, going to the youth center. Only because the town leaders refused to expand. So the teenaged have to nothing to do but get high, drunk or pregnant. There is also no such thing as a secret. everyone will know your business, and will try to be in your business. If you don't get out of Rantoul after high school, you will most likely be stuck there Forever. staying in Rantoul is like telling yourself you don't matter to the world, because people will forget you………Rantoul isn't even worth dying in...if you die there, you where never really living.

Sherman blvd is where most activity is. It consist of the clinic, the Crossing Strip Mall, Larson's Plaza, Dairy Queen, Williamsville State Bank, Family Video, Town Hall, and the newest adition, a Walgreens. The town is hopeing to add a County Market which will have other businesses like FitClub and China Star. The town attends Williamsville School District.
