Paid from personal funds. Somehow over the past half year or so, "out of pocket" has become a new business catchphrase meaning "unreachable, out of communication", which is incorrect.
My doctor's office refuses to bill insurance companies any more, so I was out of pocket for the entire payment until I did all of the paperwork myself for reimbursement

Backyard cricket term meaning "If you hit the ball over the fence you get six runs to your score, but you are out".
While it is an achievement to hit the ball over the fence, given the risk of jumping over fences, dogs, annoyed neighbours etc etc. it is encouraged to keep the ball in the yard. Honour code requires for the batter to retrieve the ball over the fence. (See: Unaustralian)

Birding out is another slang term for nodding out(on opiates for example) common mostly in southern VA.
This term came about from watching a bird one day while nodding out.

To "Cheng Out" refers to dipping out on your friends to go to bed early while they are still up socializing. This may or may not be done by Asians on occasion, hence the origin of the term "Chenging Out"
I'd like to stay up and party with you guys, but I have to Cheng Out since I have to get up early tomorrow.
