bisexuality

n. the sexual attraction to both genders, opposite and the same.

A bisexual is someone who exhibits bisexuality.

Bisexuality is one of the more commonly misunderstood of all sexualities, next to transsexuality. Some of the most common misconceptions is that it is a passing phase, whether into homosexuality (being gay) or from that into heterosexuality (being straight). Most often bisexual people are considered confused, and wierd, and many misinformed people are convinced that one can only be gay or straight.
The homophobes were in disbelief of Chuck's bisexuality.

Bisexuality

The attraction to 1) people with the same gender and 2) people of other genders. This is often confused with pansexuality, but bisexuals are often differentiated by things like having different tastes in one gender vs. others (e.g. being a woman who likes loud women, but quiet men) or not being attracted to all genders (e.g. being a man who likes people who are agender, bigender, and other men, but not being attracted to women).
Sometimes, I'll be walking and I'll notice a handsome man and then I'll see a gorgeous woman and I'll just smile to myself and be really glad for bisexuality.

Bisexual

Bisexual is sexual attraction to two or more genders. Someone who is bisexual can be attracted to men and women, men and nonbinary people, women and nonbinary people, or women, men, and nonbinary people.

Bi does not mean "attraction to men and women." While a bi person may only be attracted to men and women, that is not the only kind of bi to be.

Reading some of the above answers showed a rather entertaining mix of beliefs concerning bisexuality, mostly just attacks on it vaguely disguised as definitions. I don't care about the fact that you can write well, it doesn't persuade me that I'm 'mentally ill' at all. Bisexuals, like me, are simply people capable of falling in love with people of either gender. It's a simple matter of love, and NOT a step towards being gay. I acknowledge the fact that there are a lot of people out there who claim to be bisexual when they're really straght/gay/lesbian, but the majority of these are attention seekers. I am NOT to be classed in this category; if I was an attention seeker, everyone would know. I haven't told more than two people in the whole world so far, excluding all the people reading this. And, contrary to popular opinion, bisexual people can hold down relationships with one person at a time. They don't find the need to run off and have sex with the first good looking person they meet. That person is a bigot, not a bisexual. Just because some bigots are bisexual doesn't mean that all bisexuals are bigots.

In conclusion, I'd like to say that bisexuality is a perfectly normal choice that, whether they like to admit it or not, almost 95% of the population of the world is sitting on.
I've always wanted children, ever since I can remember. I've fallen desperately in love with a girl, so deep that it hurts every time I see her. But I fantasize over men and prefer their bodies. I am bisexual - get over it.

Bisexual

A sexual orientation meaning someone is sexually and/or emotionally attracted to either the male or female.

Does not generally mean they are overly-sexed, confused about their sexual preference, trying to hide their true sexuality or sleep around with anyone they can find.

Bisexulality is quickly becoming more and more common - although often still used in derogatory terms, i.e. to portray slutty behaviour - as people become more open with their sexuality. It doesn't always mean they enjoy both sexes equally.
It is often more accepted in females, although that can also mean they might be thought of as 'easy'.
Katinka, although currently with a boyfriend, has once before dated a woman. Even though she has only been with one woman, she prefers to think of herself as bisexual, as she might be with another.

Bisexuality

When somebody is attracted to people of both sexes. Yes, some people claim to be bisexual for attention, but there are many people who are genuinely bi. I'm not sure why people don't think bisexuality exists when it clearly does (it's well-established).
Hattie's bisexuality made her less popular in her homophobic school but she still kept up her bisexuality because she was bisexual, not because she was attention-seeking.

Bisexual

A person who is attracted romantically and sexually to both genders; male and female.

It's the most uncommon sexuality, as people are either heterosexual (most commonly) or homosexual.

Often enough, bisexuals experience some form of discrimination, doubt or questioning. Many homophobics do not like the "homosexual" aspect of being bisexual, and there are also people who think bisexuals are:

* Greedy.

This is bullshit, because you can't be "greedy" because you're ATTRACTED to both sexes, doesn't mean you HAVE both sexes. Plus even if you do have both sexes, it's their choice to be with you, right?

* Can't make up their mind/sexually confused.

This can actually be true, but not all bisexuals are confused. Is it that hard to like both?

* Only do it for attention.

While it's true you get some girls who claim to be bisexual to appeal to guys/guys claim to be bisexual to appeal to girls. Again. It doesn't mean all bisexuals are "heterosexuals in disguise".

* Like both males and females equally.

Again. SOME do, but not all. Some bisexuals prefer one gender over the other, it doesn't diminish their bisexuality though. It's possible for a man to prefer women, but would not mind having a sexual and romantic relationship with other men also. It's what bisexuality is all about.

BEST of BOTH worlds.
Bisexual male who prefers women to men, but that doesn't mean I'm straight. At least I don't believe it does. I'd still date and eff another man.
