nu metal

the newer version of metal, evolution if you will. most of numetal involves heavy screaming, and not much actual singing. numetal generally contains simple riffs, super fast drumming, and above all SCREAMING like a banchee. though not all numetal sucks ass, most of it does, ex. linkin park, limp bizkit, etc. some good numetal bands include papa roach, system of a down, story of the year(kinda sketchy here) and a little bit of slipknot, some of their good songs. in conclusion, numetal is the transformation of old heavy metal to newer rappish/rock stuff.

kid: yo homie, this limp BiZKUT cd is pimpun!
me: umm, ok?
kid:yo, check dis herr cd, wit da_
me: here, listen to this(various mixes of soad and pantera, slayer etc.)
kid:ohh...
see? he finally realized fred durst is not "pimpun" and some numetal BLOWS.

Style of music that combine hard lyrics and hardcore guitars, best exponents are Korn and limp bizkit, bands like anema and godsmack, some of the new metal stuff is really good, but some of it take a bunch of whinnie assholes that can't play shit.

A genre of music composing of shitty gothic posers strumming mindlessly at low tuned C# guitars and screaming garbage about death and calling themselves metal.(By covering good metal songs). Defined mostly by the popular (for what it's worth) bands suck ass Bullet for My Valentine, A.F.I., Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot. Fanbase consists of emo posers wanting to be called metalheads.
