Old Pickerin' Witch

Basically, an old pickerin' witch is an old woman who could aptly be called a haint because she is always making phone calls--usually to government agencies--to complain about people, neighbors, this, that, and the other. Sometimes at first, she will pretend to be nice to obtain secrets from people only to plot to use them for future complaints. She does this because it makes her feel that she is important or has power when she really doesn't. People usually get wise to her and quit communicating with her or dealing with her at all.

Somebody new in the neighborhood says, "I talked to that woman next door." Then they are told, "Don't mess with her because she likes to get people in trouble even when nothing wrong is happening. Yeah, she is an old pickerin' witch."

olde time sledding

A tradition harking back to golden era of the early 2000's olde time sledding is now declining in popularity. With its central tenets rooted deep in the rich ethos of hockey greats Gordie Howe, Eddie Shore and Jack Hanson olde time sledding is an exhibition in the lost art of manliness. Equipt with malt liquor and a sled the brave participants of olde time sledding decend into darkness in an attempt to reach the bottom of a snow covered hill. The victorious will have to endure cold winds, trees, elbows and general beat downs in order to complete their endeavor. But, to the victor awaits a cold beverage and much deserved lean.

The perfect silence of a starless prairie night was interupted by the ill tempered sound off cascading from sorel boots trudging through snow. Tall shimmering stacks of breath lingered motionless at the top of the hill only to be pushed aside by the forceful cry "olde time sledding!"

Hot Old Fashioned

A hot-oiled hand job technique in which an overhand rotational cranking motion is used much like starting early automobiles. Generally accompanied by guttural engine like moans throughout the process culminated by a gentle idling hum of relief and dick rugburn.

-Scene: After a long night at the bar-
"Hey Jon, why are you limping this morning?"
"I got a Hot Old Fashioned last night and this engine didn't want to turn over. It's like Indian Rope Burn all over my shaft."

A temporary flu that is caused by excessive drinking of cheap beer (ie Old Style) all weekend long, resulting in an absence at the workplace, usually on Mondays.
