its about how we feel towards life and music in general.

no. you DONT HAVE TO WRITE POETRY to be EMO.
(but if you do write. thats grand. keep it up.)

Get the emo kidmug. Ok this is to every one thinks that emo is all about the cutting and the music and the clothes. Its not! Emo kids are extremlly sensitve and we are not posers! We actuly listen to the lyrics in songs and we don't want to fit into the cheerleader/jock mold. We are ourselveves and that is a good thing. (and you can't say guy on guy ain't just a little hott!) (no offence)

Get the emo kidmug. You change your "style" because that is whats cool at the moment. Believe it or not, even when your in a highschool with uniforms, these people will always find a way to "express" themselves. Here what I see in my school...
-lip rings or "snake bites" ?
-boys who look like they have boxes around their head
-Owns a guitar, just because its cool to say you have one, but you don't know how to play one god damn song
-pokes holes in their sleeves to make it look like your wearing gloves???
-Black, chipped nail polish
-Straigtens their hair because apparently your natural hair style is "un-cool" and "ugly"
-You cut your own hair ...
-Omgzz lyk add me on ur myspace dude, cuz ur soo kewl i <3 u lolz
-Wears a certain style of glasses because Pete Wentz or Brendon Urie has the exact same pair...
-Takes pictures of themselves
-HEAVY EYELINER
-Girls like to talk sexually to each other...Not sure why

ok so i know there are heaps of definitions on here but they're not all true.
maybe indie kids are interested in indie/alternative music because the lyrics and the songs are more meaningful or they just like them more. but that doesn't mean they spend the whole day online looking for unknown bands
a lot DO wear vintage clothes/acid wash jeans/headbands/... but not ALL.
i'm not saying that if you do you're just fake
but if you don't it doesn't mean you're not indie
being indie is more about appreciating the music and being yourself. not caring what other people think.
and indie kids generally don't like people who are trying to be indie because it's becoming "cool"
you can see the difference between a real indie kid who's just being themselves and a wannabe
